The Caravan and Camping NSW app is a quick, easy way to book accommodation while you’re on the go. It complements our website www.caravanandcampingnsw.com.au where you’ll find more park details.
Who is the Caravan NSW iphone application for?
Anyone who has an iPhone or iPod Touch and wants quick, easy access to nearby caravan and camping parks on Crown land.
How does the Caravan NSW app work?
Once you have downloaded the app onto your iPhone or iPod touch, it will appear on the home screen.
Look for this icon on your home screen:

- Click on the Caravan NSW icon
- An alert will appear on your phone advising that the app would like to use your current location. Choose either "Don't Allow" or "Okay".
- Search for caravan and camping parks either via the list or map
- Click on the park you are interested in for more information
Which devices are compatible with the Caravan NSW app?
iPhone 3GS: An iPhone 3GS handset or above is required to use the augmented reality feature in the application. A 3G or Wi-Fi connection is required if you want to search and view parks on Google Maps. If you do not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, you can still use the application but there are some limitations. Features such as the park’s name, description, area, telephone number, email address and the accommodation and facilities will still be available.
iPhone 3G, iPod Touch: An iPhone or iPod Touch (second generation), with a 3.1.0 or greater software version is required. A 3G or Wi-Fi connection is required if you want to search and view parks on Google Maps. Augmented reality is not available on the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. If you do not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, you can still use the application but there are some limitations.
iPad1: The app works on iPad1 but is not optimised for this device and its screen shape. The Augmented Reality function does not work on iPad1.
iPad2: The app works on iPad2 but is not optimised for this device and its screen shape.
What do I need in order to use this service?
An iPhone or iPod touch (second generation), with 3.1.0 or greater software version. An iPhone 3GS handset or above is required to use the Augmented Reality feature in the application.

- A 3G or Wi-Fi connection is required if you want to find parks and get directions on a map
- If you do not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, you can still use the application but there are some limitations.
If I don’t have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, what services can I use?
Park information is accessible at all times from the app, even without an active 3G or Wi-Fi connection. A 3G or Wi-Fi connection is required if you want to find parks and get directions on a map.
Do I have to pay to download or use this service?
This app is free from the Apple App Store. However, an internet connection is required to download the application. Also, once you have downloaded the app to your iPhone or iPod touch, an internet connection is required to use some of its features (standard data download and Internet usage charges apply, check with your Internet service provider or your mobile phone service provider for further details). If you call a park from your iPhone, you will need to pay your carrier’s standard call charges.
Where does the Caravan NSW data come from?
The app is a tool designed to make it easy to locate and contact caravan parks and camping grounds on Crown land. Park operators list and promote their accommodation, and receive and manage enquiries in relation to their property. All park information is submitted by third parties and is displayed in good faith. While Caravan and Camping NSW takes every precaution to ensure the integrity of the site, we are not responsible for park bookings or ensuring the accuracy of park information.
I can’t see any results on the map. What do I need to do?
You may not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on. This needs to be switched on for you to see your results on the map. You may also need to zoom into the map to view the properties closer up.
How do I give you feedback/ideas on how the app can be improved?
We'd love to hear from you if you have suggestions on how we can improve the app or even if you have a complaint. When using the app, select 'About this app' at the bottom of your home screen then touch the 'feedback' link.
Is there an Android version of the Caravan NSW app?
Currently, there is no Android version of the Caravan NSW App. A large majority of the people visiting our website (http://www.caravanandcampingnsw.com.au) via mobile devices use an iPhone. Therefore, we have focused our resources at this stage on the development of an iPhone app. We may review this decision at a later date.
