There are two primitive campgrounds within the Goolawah Reserve, known as Racecourse and Delicate. They are informal in that individual sites are not identified and they are known for their relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Campsites cannot be booked in advance. The month following Christmas and also the Easter break are peak times during which both campgrounds may be full. The campgrounds are suitable for tents, vans and campers but visitors are warned that the dirt road south from Crescent Head is irregularly maintained and can become very damaged and potholed especially following rain.Cold showers and toilets are available at each campground. Firewood is also available and campfires are allowed. However any campers who place glass bottles in campfires will be asked to leave without delay. Desexed dogs are welcome at the Goolawah campgrounds but generators are not permitted as they are not in keeping with the ambience of the setting.
