The park is close to a beautiful beach and lagoon area that runs through to the river, with plenty of spots to fish, relax and enjoy. Moonee Beach is not patrolled though is very popular with fishing enthusiasts. Moonee Beach Reserve, where Moonee Creek meets Moonee Beach, is a popular area for locals and visitors alike with smaller children. The reserve offers shallow water for the younger children and many parts of the creek are shaded by trees hence the perfect place to sit in the refreshing water with the little ones. The reserve boasts many facilities such as a playground, picnic shelters, barbeques, toilets, beach showers, a takeaway shop and a caravan park. You can also take a stroll to the headland via the boardwalk bridge, across the creek, and then follow the bush paths.
